PEOPLE’S PALACE GLASGOW

Why Visit People’s Palace Glasgow?

The People's Palace Glasgow is a cultural center and social history museum set in Glasgow Green. The museum holds a collection of art, photographs, and historical artifacts that tell the story of the city and its people, from the mid 18th century to modern times. Learn more about how the people worked, lived, and played in the years past. You can find artifacts and information that range from a reconstructed early 20th-century one-room tenement to the infamous Banana Boots from comedian Billy Connolly.

The building was designed by Alexander McDonald and was opened in 1989 as a place for people to enjoy art, culture, and reading. The Winter Gardens is a Victorian glasshouse that is located behind the People's Palace Glasgow. Here you can find a collection of exotic plants, palms, and a café. With a visit here you can easily spend an hour or two. Admission is free to both attractions and the museum is opened daily.
